VoIP Phone

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phones channel calls via the internet, making local, national and international calls significantly less expensive than traditional phone lines. A softphone is the computer equivalent of the VoIP phone, so-called because of the software needed for the PC phone interface. VoIP phones and softphones route packets of compressed voice data using internet protocol (IP) signals, such as H.323 and SIP.
